But you can call me Mari (rhymes with starry, not stair-y). Born and raised in Indianapolis, IN, I was voted “most likely to leave and never come back” by my high-school classmates. I proved them wrong by returning from Michigan State University after graduating summa cum laude with degrees in Spanish and Interdisciplinary Humanities. Since then, I’ve continued my love of travel, language, and storytelling by working in the non-profit, museum, academic, and education sectors. This has given me 7+ years of experience in communications & marketing and 10+ years experience of visual storytelling.

While I’ve held various roles throughout my career, storytelling has always been at the heart of what I do. Stories are how we shape reality, come together as communities, and build collective futures.
